Director Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding, Vanity Fair) brings Jhumpa Lahiri’s bestselling novel beautifully to the screen. An Evening with Mira Nair
Tuesday, Mar. 31, 2009
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Ives Concert Hall, WestConn Midtown campus (directions)
A skilled director, Mira Nair is equally adept talking to an audience; she began her career in front of the camera, not behind it. With sophistication, she will discuss the craft of filmmaking as well as the issues she so passionately explores in her films: the tug of competing worlds felt by millions of immigrants, and ways to bridge the gap between cultures. She will show clips from her films and share anecdotes about them.
